What Seeds Are You Planting For Your Future?

The ‘state of consciousness’ which you apply to each step on your journey will be a powerful and energetic part of what outcome you will create.

Manifesting comes out of your state of consciousness during the only time you ever have, the present moment. Whatever you’re thinking and feeling right here, right now, however you’re behaving are the very seeds you’re planting for your future. It’s rather like a farmer planting seeds today. If he plants basil seeds, as long as he nurtures and waters them every day, he knows what’s going to grow in the future. It’s pretty obvious that if he wants apple trees, he doesn’t plant pear seeds! So, if your thoughts are focused on your limiting beliefs, your doubts, regret, worrying about failing again like you did in the past, that’s exactly what’s coming in the future. Likewise, if our thoughts, behaviour, actions and choices are centred around gratitude and abundance, we are using the present moment to dictate our future. This is why the ‘I’ll be happy when…’syndrome never works. The ’when’ is, and will only ever be, right now! So, it’s about learning to think and feel abundantly now. If you want a loving relationship, you must be loving, think loving thoughts, behave as though you already have it now. How would a person think, act, feel, behave if they were in a loving relationship? Be it now.

Many texts, articles, videos advise us to use our imagination and create the situation in our mind of how we want our life to be. We are given the advice to use the 5 senses and really focus on feeling, experiencing our dreams and desires so vividly as though the manifested reality already exists. This incredible ability of the imagination can propel us to such feelings of elation and joy that when we leave this imaginary state we are so enthused and excited all of our waking moments revolve around making this dream of ours into a reality.

For a while, this a wonderful place to be mentally and emotionally. You’re inspired, motivated and feel strongly that this manifestation of a new life is within your grasp. Your enthusiasm drives you to study, create, further your knowledge on how to make this dream a reality. This driven state can be inspirational for a while. And whilst the imagination is a wonderful gift of creation, it does however bring about several challenging experiences during this time of striving:

-Stress levels in the body are elevated as you move away from your comfort zone.

-There’s a voice in your head saying, ‘what if this doesn’t work out, what then?’

-There is the possibility of not achieving your goal, others may remind you of this.

-Frustration, anxiety, worry can really start to elevate as you move further and further away from your routine thoughts, routine behaviour, routine choices and actions.

-You rush the present moments so you can attain your goal quicker.

-You have an attitude that says, “once I’ve achieved my goal, then I’ll be happy.”

-You have such a strong attachment to your goal it prevents you from experiencing all of the beauty in the present moment.

-Most importantly, in your striving for a more joyous life in the future (that actually does not exist) all present moments pass by unrecognized, unnoticed, ignored.

There is only one time in our existence and that is the present moment. It is and will always be the only time we ever have in which to be content, grateful, observant and truly aware. This is the only moment we have in which to manifest and if we’re creating something beautiful then each small step in the process needs to be carried out with present moment awareness, care, devotion and focused attention.

All incredible works of art start with an idea, a plan, a dream, a vision. When a famous artist such as Michelangelo carved incredible structures from blocks of marble, every small chip of stone, every small choice had to be made with love and devotion to his work. Those small insignificant steps carried out with such passion were all works of art in their own right. Every chip of the stone was the sculpture itself because that’s all the finished sculpture is, thousands of chipped out pieces of stone. What this demonstrates is that all small, seemingly insignificant steps on the path to your goal should be nurtured and should be carried out with care, with focus, attention, love and gratitude. If Michelangelo had only been focused on the finished product, on how much money he’d be paid, he may never have achieved such beauty, created such masterpieces.

There is much to be learnt that the journey is way more important than the goal. Why? There is only this present moment, so care should be taken to treat all present moments with gratitude and devotion. It is this very present moment through which all manifesting is being carried out.

The ‘state of consciousness’ which you apply to each step on your journey will be a powerful and energetic part of what outcome you will create. For example, if you’re building a house, laying each brick with present moment awareness, focus, love and enjoyment, then this state of being will exist in the finished product. If you don’t enjoy the journey, rush to complete the project and maintain an unhappy state whilst you’re building your house, then this is the state of consciousness which will go with you not only into each and every brick you lay, but into the finished project.

So many people strive, fight their way ‘to the top’ of their career only to find that the money, the status, the title has not brought them the happiness they imagined. The state of consciousness in which they created their dream job was of a low, negative energy. They missed every present moment along the way, never stopped in their quest for success to watch a sunset, see the beauty in a wild flower, give their devoted attention to a loved one, never stopped to silence the mind and feel the breath enter and leave the body. The longing to be happy still exists and it will remain a longing until the present moment is acknowledged, appreciated and enjoyed.

Planning goals for the future is a wonderful part of life. Once the plans have been set, let them go, remain unattached to them. Take your small steps on your journey with present moment awareness. Appreciate the present moment. Take time to observe your environment and see beauty in the simple things.

When we look at the power of a magnificent ocean, it is made up of individual seemingly insignificant water molecules. However, in their own right, each water droplet is the ocean. Know that whatever you are creating in your life, each step you take on the journey is the master piece, is the work of art, is the finished product. Take each step with care, with devotion, with love…….that’s how great things are made.
